How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Ensuring work complies with relevant industry design guides, British Standards and Building Regulations

Maintaining strong professional relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and colleagues
Keeping up to date with relevant industry regulations, standards and design practices
    Requirements

A Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
Experience within electrical building services design
Proficiency with relevant electrical design and calculation software
Understanding of Building Services design and multidisciplinary coordination
Good knowledge of relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to manage workloads effectively and work to agreed deadlines
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team
    Good communication and interpersonal skills
Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff would be beneficial
Professional membership of a relevant engineering institution is desirable
    What's on Offer

    Competitive salary
    Permanent, full-time position
    40-hour working week
33 days annual leave including statutory holidays
Healthcare scheme covering areas including optometry and dental care
    Contributory pension
    Cycle to work scheme
Easily accessible office locations with good public transport links
    Regular team socials and events
Full support for personal and professional development
    Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join an established Building Services Consultancy and take on greater technical responsibility across a varied project portfolio.
