How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commercial Manager

    LOCATION: Hull & Yorkshire
    SALARY: Excellent + Company Car

GW Power is recruiting a Commercial Manager to strengthen commercial performance across its growing portfolio of projects.
The Commercial Manager will work closely with operational, finance, estimating and site teams to manage costs, contracts and risk.
As Commercial Manager, you’ll provide the financial insight and commercial guidance needed to keep projects on track.
This Commercial Manager opportunity would suit a commercially astute professional who enjoys collaboration, problem-solving and turning financial information into action.

GW Power is an established M&E, renewable technologies, maintenance and decarbonisation provider delivering projects across commercial and public-sector estates. Its portfolio spans electrical and mechanical installations, service and maintenance, testing and compliance, and low-carbon technologies.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you’ll play a central role in protecting the commercial performance of projects across the business. Working closely with contract managers, estimators, accounts, site teams and clients, you’ll provide the contractual guidance and commercial challenge needed to support successful delivery.

From cash-flow forecasting and contract reviews to valuations, variations and final accounts, you’ll bring greater commercial visibility to key projects and ensure stakeholders understand where each job stands.

    WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

    * Lead and develop the commercial department within an award-winning, fast-growing business.

    * Manage commercial performance and risk across diverse projects valued from £100,000 upwards.

    * Influence projects from initial contract review through to final account.

    * Work closely with operational, finance, estimating and site teams.

    * Make a measurable impact on business performance while working closely with the directors.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

    * Provide commercial guidance across a varied portfolio of projects.

    * Review and manage contract performance, cash flow, costs, profitability and commercial risks.

    * Manage valuations, applications, variations and final accounts.

    * Support subcontractor appointments, procurement and contract negotiations.

    * Issue contractual notices and help resolve claims, delays and disputes.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING

    * Experience in commercial management, quantity surveying or a similar role.

    * Strong cost-control, cash-flow forecasting and project-profitability skills.

    * Experience working with NEC, JCT or similar construction contracts.

    * Experience within construction, M&E or renewable energy, gained with a principal contractor or subcontractor.

    * A proactive, analytical and collaborative approach.

    * Strong communication skills and the confidence to influence stakeholders at every level.

    WHAT YOU’LL GET

    * Excellent salary, benefits and company car or car allowance.

    * A highly influential role working across key projects and departments.

    * The opportunity to strengthen commercial systems and performance.

    * Broad exposure to contracts, finance, procurement, risk and client management.

    * A long-term career working closely with the board of an established and growing business.
