How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Helping engineers and researchers capture the data that drives innovation is about far more than selling equipment. As an Instrumentation Sales Engineer at Photo-Sonics International Ltd, you'll work with cutting edge high speed imaging technology, supporting customers to solve complex test and measurement challenges across the automotive, aerospace and academic sectors while building lasting technical partnerships.

Office based/hybrid working with regular travel across the UK no two weeks will look the same as you help customers find the right solutions for demanding applications.

    Your responsibilities as Instrumentation Sales Engineer

    Develop sales opportunities for specialist high speed imaging and instrumentation solutions
    Work closely with customers to understand technical challenges and recommend suitable applications
    Build and maintain long-term relationships across automotive, aerospace and academic markets
    Collaborate with technical colleagues and international partners to deliver successful customer outcomes
    Manage customer activity through CRM systems and maintain accurate sales records
    Represent the business at customer meetings, demonstrations, exhibitions and industry events, including occasional overseas travel

    What we're looking for in an Instrumentation Sales Engineer

    Degree level qualification, or equivalent, in an engineering or science related discipline
    Strong understanding of engineering principles relating to instrumentation and metrology
    Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and CRM systems
    Full UK driving licence
    Knowledge of imaging techniques within testing environments or high speed imaging applications would be advantageous
