How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering technically challenging projects within the life sciences, data centre, commercial and industrial/warehouse sectors.

    Responsibilities:

    * Produce accurate take-offs and pricing for mechanical packages.

    * Obtain and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

    * Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.

    * Work closely with the pre-construction, design and commercial teams throughout the tender process.

    * Attend tender meetings and contribute to bid strategy.

    * Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.

    Requirements:

    * Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the M&E or Building Services sector.

    * Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations.

    * Experience pricing commercial, life sciences, industrial, warehouse or data centre projects would be advantageous.

    * Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.

    * Strong communication and organisational abilities.

    What's on Offer:

    * Fully remote working.

    * Above-market salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    * Long-term career progression with a growing and financially secure contractor.

    * Opportunity to work on some of the UK's most prestigious construction projects.

    * Supportive team environment with experienced estimators and commercial professionals.

    * Excellent pipeline of secured work across multiple sectors.

If you're a Mechanical Estimator looking for a fully remote opportunity with a market-leading M&E contractor offering excellent career prospects, we'd be delighted to discuss this role with you in confidence
