Working for a well-established principal contractor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a straightforward refurbishment project within a school environment.
This is a genuinely hands-on role, so we're looking for someone with a trade background who is comfortable leading from the front. You'll be supervising a small number of subcontractors while also getting involved with the works whenever required to help keep the project on programme.
The Role
The project includes a range of refurbishment, structural remediation and minor civils works, including:
* Minor brickwork and blockwork
* Formwork
* Small civils works
* Exploratory and opening-up works
* General refurbishment works
Duties & Responsibilities
* Supervise the day-to-day running of the site.
* Coordinate subcontractors and daily site activities.
* Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
* Carry out site inductions and toolbox talks.
* Maintain site health & safety standards and daily records.
* Liaise with the Contracts Manager and subcontractors.
* Get involved with the works where required to help maintain programme.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience as a Working Foreman or General Foreman.
* Trade background such as Joinery, Bricklaying, Groundworks, General Building or similar.
* SMSTS.
* CSCS Card.
* First Aid at Work.
* Experience delivering refurbishment or small civils projects.
* Previous experience on schools is desired
* Happy to remain hands-on throughout the project.
