Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant – Tower Hamlets
Teaching Consultancy is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established specialist SEN school in Tower Hamlets to recruit experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants for September.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school that provides outstanding education for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Complex Needs, Speech & Language difficulties and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
We are looking for caring, resilient and proactive Teaching Assistants who are passionate about helping every child reach their full potential.
Essential Requirements
To be considered, you must have:

Team Teach training (ESSENTIAL)
*
Previous experience working within a UK SEN school
*
Experience supporting children with Autism and/or complex learning needs
*
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
*
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*
A positive, patient and nurturing approach
*
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
*
Right to work in the UK
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
*
Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
*
Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies.
*
Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
*
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
*
Helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
