How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Shift Engineer

    Location: City of London
    Salary: Up to £45,000 + Overtime + Excellent Benefits

    Are you an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer looking for a fantastic days-only role in the heart of the City of London? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading building services provider offering an excellent work-life balance, outstanding benefits, and genuine opportunities for career progression.

    Working within a prestigious commercial building, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality planned and reactive maintenance while ensuring the building's electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.

    * 4 on, 4 off days-only shift pattern

    * 7:00am – 6:00pm (11-hour shifts)

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems.

    * Fault find and repair electrical plant and equipment.

    * Maintain lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting, UPS systems, generators and associated building services equipment.

    * Complete maintenance records accurately using the company's CAFM system.

    * Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.

    * Liaise with clients, contractors and the wider engineering team to ensure a first-class service.

    Requirements

    * Recognised electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

    * Experience working within commercial building maintenance or a facilities management environment.

    * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
