How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Construction Manager

    Blyth, Northumberland

A leading mechanical contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join a major hyperscale data centre development in Blyth, Northumberland.

This is an exceptional opportunity to become involved at the very beginning of what is expected to be a multi-phase campus development spanning up to 10 years.

    The Opportunity

The successful candidate will initially take responsibility for delivering the mechanical services package on the project's temporary/permanent office facility, which will act as the operational hub for the wider campus.

Following completion of the office fit out (approximately 18 weeks), you will transition directly onto Phase One of the main data centre, with further phases already planned.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships on site and helping establish delivery teams from the outset.

    Responsibilities

    * Manage the mechanical installation from pre-construction through to handover.

    * Coordinate mechanical subcontractors across HVAC, ventilation, plumbing and insulation packages.

    * Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

    * Work closely with the client, design team and wider project delivery team.

    * Attend site meetings and manage daily site operations.

    * Monitor labour, productivity and programme.

    * Resolve technical and coordination issues throughout construction.

    * Support procurement and sequencing of mechanical packages.

    * Produce progress reports and maintain project documentation.

    About You

We're looking for someone who has:

    * Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager.

    * Strong background delivering commercial, industrial or data centre projects.

    * Excellent knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and mechanical building services.

    * Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work packages.

    * Strong communication and organisational skills.

    * A proactive approach with the ability to solve problems on site.

    * SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (or equivalent).

Local knowledge of mechanical subcontractors within the North East would be highly advantageous.

    Project Information

    * Location: Blyth, Northumberland

    * Pre-construction: Mid August 2026

    * Site Start: Early September 2026

    * Office Fit Out: Approximately 18 weeks

    * Main Data Centre Phase One: 12–18 months

    * Potential to remain on future phases of a programme expected to run for many years.

If you're looking for the opportunity to join a landmark project from day one and play a key role in delivering one of the UK's major data centre developments, we'd like to hear from you
