How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Service Engineer

    The Role

    As a Service Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and supporting our pumping equipment, ensuring customers receive the highest levels of service and reliability.

    This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects and environments, carrying out installations, maintenance, and commissioning activities that keep essential infrastructure operating efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Service, maintain, and repair pump-related products and equipment

    * Install and commission electrical submersible pumping systems

    * Work across pumping stations, sewage treatment works, and network sites

    * Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs

    * Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company standards

    * Deliver excellent customer service while representing the Andrews Sykes brand

    What We're Looking For

    Essential

    * Fully qualified Electrical Engineer (City & Guilds or equivalent)

    * CSCS Gold Card

    * CompEx Foundation plus Modules 9 & 10

    * Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills

    * A proactive and safety-focused approach to work

    Desirable

    * Experience working within the water industry or wastewater sector

    * Experience working on water company frameworks

    * Previous experience in a similar engineering environment
