How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start

Aspire People are recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to join a specialist Primary Alternative Provision in Bolton this September.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates with a UK degree in SEND Education, Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related subject who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a positive impact on their educational journey.

    About the School
This specialist setting supports pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 who have been permanently excluded or are at serious risk of exclusion from mainstream education. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment where pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs receive the tailored support they need to re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.

    The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
    * Support pupils with a range of SEND and SEMH needs within the classroom.
    * Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage pupils to engage with learning.
    * Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning activities and interventions.
    * Help pupils develop confidence, emotional resilience, and social skills.
    * Promote positive behaviour and support pupils in overcoming barriers to education.
    * Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to ensure every child reaches their potential.

    The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who:
    * Hold a UK degree in SEND Education, Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
    * Have previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting.
    * Have experience working with children with SEMH needs.
    * Are patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children.
    * Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    * Are available to work full-time from September on a long-term basis.

    Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
    * Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
    * Be able to provide references covering the last two years.
    * Have the right to work in the UK.

    Why Join Aspire People?
    * Competitive rates of pay.
    * Full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential for ongoing employment.
    * Dedicated support from your Aspire People consultant.
    * The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children who need it most.

If you're a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant or graduate looking to begin or continue your career in specialist education, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today with Aspire People and start making a difference in a rewarding Primary Alternative Provision this September.
