Are you a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of historians within a thriving Sixth Form setting?
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic History KS5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school with a successful Sixth Form in Perry Barr, Birmingham. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting at the beginning of the new academic year in September 2026, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
This Ofsted-rated 'Good' school has built a strong reputation for academic achievement, excellent student support and a positive learning environment. Staff are valued and supported by an experienced leadership team, making this an excellent opportunity for a teacher looking to further their career in a friendly and ambitious school.
Ideally, the school is looking for an experienced Teacher; however, applications from ECTs are welcome also.
The Role
* Teaching History at Key Stage 5 within a well-established Sixth Form
* Delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that foster a passion for History
* Preparing students for A-Level examinations and supporting progression to higher education
* Planning, marking and assessing work in line with departmental and school expectations
* Monitoring student progress and implementing effective intervention strategies where required
* Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
* Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Has experience teaching History in a secondary school setting
* Has the ability and confidence to teach History at KS5
* Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject
* Possesses strong classroom management and communication skills
* Is committed to raising achievement and supporting student success
* Has a positive, professional and proactive approach to teaching
* ECTs are encouraged to apply
