How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you a creative and passionate Art & Design Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to inspire Sixth Form students?

    We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Art & Design KS5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school with a successful Sixth Form in Perry Barr, Birmingham. This is a full-time, long-term position starting at the beginning of the new academic year in September 2026, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

    Rated 'Good' by Ofsted, the school is committed to providing high-quality education within a positive and inclusive learning environment. Students are encouraged to develop their creativity, independence and ambition, whilst staff benefit from a collaborative culture and strong leadership support.

    Ideally, the school is looking for an experienced Teacher; however, applications from ECTs are welcome also.

    * Teaching Art & Design at Key Stage 5 within a thriving Sixth Form setting

    * Planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire creativity and artistic development

    * Preparing students for A-Level Art & Design examinations and portfolio coursework

    * Supporting students in developing a range of artistic techniques, concepts and critical thinking skills

    * Monitoring and assessing student progress to ensure excellent outcomes

    * Creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment

    * Contributing to the continued success and development of the Art department

    The Ideal Candidate

    * Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

    * Has experience teaching Art & Design within a secondary school environment

    * Has the ability and confidence to teach Art & Design at KS5

    * Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for the arts

    * Possesses strong classroom management and organisational skills

    * Is committed to supporting students in achieving their full creative potential

    * Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    * ECTs are encouraged to apply
