How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Coordinator to join a growing and well-respected SME main contractor delivering a wide range of planned works, refurbishment and maintenance projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative business that places a strong emphasis on quality, teamwork and professional development. You will play a key role in coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to project completion, ensuring all technical information is delivered accurately, on time and ready for construction.

    The Role

Working closely with the Commercial, Operations and Site teams, you will be responsible for managing the flow of design information across multiple projects, coordinating external consultants and ensuring design programmes remain on track.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in planned works, refurbishment, retrofit, social housing or Design & Build projects who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has excellent organisational and communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Coordinate design activities from tender stage through to completion and final handover.

    * Manage drawing registers, design trackers, RFI logs and design programmes.

    * Ensure drawings and technical information are reviewed, approved and issued through the Common Data Environment (CDE).

    * Monitor design progress and proactively identify and resolve risks, delays and information gaps.

    * Coordinate external consultants and specialist designers to ensure deliverables are achieved.

    * Organise and chair design meetings, recording actions and following up outstanding items.

    * Work collaboratively with Commercial, Operations, Quality and Site teams to support successful project delivery.

    * Coordinate design releases to align with procurement and construction programmes.

    * Maintain design risk registers and identify buildability, compliance and programme risks.

    * Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, Building Safety Act requirements and project handover documentation.

    * Support quality assurance processes and project inspections throughout the construction lifecycle.

    About You

To be considered for this position you should have:

    * Previous experience as a Design Coordinator or within a similar design management role in the construction industry.

    * Experience coordinating consultants, technical information, drawings and design approvals.

    * A good understanding of construction processes, document control and design management.

    * The ability to identify and manage design, compliance and programme risks.

    * Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.

    * Experience using Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms and managing design documentation.

    Qualifications

    * HNC, NVQ Level 4 or an equivalent construction-related qualification, or relevant industry experience.

    Desirable Experience

    * Planned maintenance, refurbishment, retrofit or social housing projects.

    * Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and quality management procedures.

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive salary and benefits package.

    * Long-term career opportunities with a growing SME main contractor.

    * Ongoing training and professional development.

    * A supportive, collaborative and friendly working environment.

    * The opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of planned works and refurbishment projects where your contribution will have a genuine impact.

If you are an organised and proactive Design Coordinator looking to join a business that values quality, teamwork and career progression, we would love to hear from you
