How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Van Driver

    Starting full-time salary: £24,479 a year (£13.45 an hour)

    Field Based: To cover South-East London & Kent

    Full time, 35 hours a week

    Our dedicated team of Van Drivers (known internally as Stock Transport Drivers) support our retail shops every day to supply essential stock which is crucial to their success. This allows our shops to raise much needed funds to create an Equal Future with disabled people.

    The Role

    Permanent, 35 hours a week

    5 Working days a week to include working Wednesday to Sunday.

    Please note that successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

    This role covers collections across central London and south of the river within the M25, with deliveries mainly to shops in South East London and Kent. Some flexibility will be required.

    In this role you will:

    *

    Move a variety of donations across Scope Retail as part of your Stock Transport Driver duties.

    *

    Deliver a great customer experience to donors when collecting or delivering items.

    *

    Keep the vehicle and stock secure, including planning for routine maintenance and repairs.

    About you

    To be successful in this role, you will:

    *

    Have a strong customer focus and have a professional, courteous manner with the general public.

    *

    Be able to able to lift heavy and/or bulky items and happy to be trained in the use of lifting equipment for very heavy items.

    *

    Enjoy being out and about and working outdoors in all weathers, travelling far and wide in your area.

    *

    As a Scope Stock Transport Driver, you’ll need a full, clean driving licence with a willingness to undertake relevant training.

    Shop Hours

    Scope shops are open every day. Some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed.

    Full-time: 35 hours per week, five days out of seven

    Part-time: Weekly hours on a seven-day rota
