How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Our client is a leading national law firm that is recognised for its specialist claimant personal injury practice. Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Industrial Disease Solicitor to join a highly regarded team in Manchester.

    Your new role

    This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor through to approximately 5 years' PQE to join an established asbestos and occupational disease team.

    You will manage your own caseload of litigated industrial disease matters whilst supporting senior lawyers on complex and high-value claims. The team acts for individuals suffering from a broad range of occupational illnesses and respiratory conditions, providing meaningful and rewarding work that makes a genuine difference to clients and their families.

    Your responsibilities:

    Managing a caseload of asbestos and occupational disease claims from inception through to resolution.
    Handling a range of cases including mesothelioma, asbestos-related lung cancer, asbestosis, pleural thickening, occupational asthma, silicosis and other workplace-related illnesses.
    Running litigated matters independently with appropriate supervision.
    Assisting partners and senior solicitors on complex and high-value claims.
    Drafting pleadings, witness statements and schedules of loss.
    Liaising with clients, medical experts, counsel and other key stakeholders.
    Conducting legal research and preparing detailed advice.
    Building and maintaining strong client and referrer relationships.
    Contributing to business development and networking activities.

    What you'll need to succeed

    Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 0 to 5 years' PQE.
    Previous experience in industrial disease, asbestos litigation or claimant personal injury.
    Ability to manage litigated cases with increasing levels of autonomy.
    Strong drafting, analytical and legal research skills.
    Excellent communication and client care abilities.
    A compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with vulnerable clients and their families.
    Enthusiasm for industrial disease work and a genuine commitment to securing the best outcomes for clients.
    A proactive and commercially aware mindset with an interest in business development.
