How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A University in London are currently seeking a Senior Planning and Assurance Analyst on a 15 month fixed term contract. The role will be onsite 2/3 days a week in East London.

    The Senior Planning and Assurance Analyst role is a key post within the team and has specific responsibilities for supporting the team's work around statutory assurance, league table submissions & analysis, as well as performance monitoring.

    The Senior Planning and Assurance Analyst will play a key role in:

    Developing and implementing an assurance framework that supports the HESA Working Group in monitoring and validating the accuracy of key statutory returns and evaluating their impact on external publications.
    The submission of data and information to league tables, working with both internal and external stakeholders to improve efficiency through automation, whilst ensuring accuracy and optimisation of data prior to submission.
    The analysis of national and international league tables and their underlying metrics to support strategic initiatives and projects.Experience

    A good working knowledge of how statutory Higher Education returns are used for compliance and reputational purposes, including their use in league table publications.
    Previous experience in data analysis and / or business intelligence.
    Knowledge of designing and creating data visualisations and dashboards using specialist software (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
    Experienced in analysing a range of different types and sources of data (e.g. student, staff and financial data) and utilising insights to effectively influence organisational decision making.
    A track record in communicating key analytical findings to a range of audiences including committees and senior management.
    High level of numeracy and the ability to deploy a range of techniques to evaluate, model and interpret large and complex datasets.
    Excellent IT skills, particularly in modern data analysis, modelling and visualisation tools including the ability to learn new IT systems as required.
    Ability to design and develop dashboards using visualisation tools which transform complex data into readily accessible and meaningful insights
    Experience of using one or more market-leading business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, etc)
