This is a permanent role, and the successful applicant will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service while coordinating the efficient movement of goods and ensuring smooth day-to-day operational processes.
In addition to customer service and logistics responsibilities, the role includes a range of administrative and operational support duties that contribute to the overall success of the business.
Customer Service (Approximately 70–80% of the Role)
* Act as the primary point of contact for customer enquiries via telephone, email, and online channels.
* Deliver a professional, friendly, and responsive customer experience, building strong relationships with customers.
* Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all information is entered correctly.
* Provide customers with timely updates on orders, product availability, lead times, and deliveries.
* Resolve customer queries, complaints, and issues promptly, escalating where appropriate.
* Liaise with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met and expectations are managed.
* Process returns, credits, and replacement orders in line with company procedures.
* Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and contribute to service improvements.
Logistics Coordination (Supporting Role)
* Support the coordination of customer deliveries by liaising with suppliers, warehouse staff and transport providers.
* Monitor delivery schedules and communicate any delays or changes to customers and internal teams.
* Assist with arranging collections, dispatches, and return shipments.
* Prepare delivery documentation and maintain accurate logistics records.
* Work closely with the operations team to help ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
* Assist in resolving delivery-related queries and escalating issues where necessary.
Administration and Operational Support
* Act as a key point of contact for a variety of operational tasks outside the standard remit of the role.
* Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and operational documentation.
* Produce routine reports relating to customer service and order management.
* Support purchase order processing and supplier communications where required.
* Assist with invoicing, credit notes, returns and general administrative tasks.
* Contribute to the review and improvement of customer service and operational processes.
Skills and Experience
Essential
* Previous experience in customer service, logistics, supply chain, or operations coordination.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational and time management abilities.
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experience with Sage is required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
