How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

You will teach a group of up to 8 students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering Maths lessons using the White Rose Maths scheme. Planning requirements are minimal, with lessons adapted to meet the needs and abilities of the students rather than created from scratch.

Working hours are 9:00am – 11:00am, allowing time for preparation and lesson set-up each day. Teaching will typically take place from 9:15am – 10:00am and 10:00am – 10:45am.

This role initially offers 2 hours per day, with the potential for additional hours from December as the provision expands.

    Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students with SEMH needs.

Teach students working towards and up to Higher GCSE Maths.
Create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment that supports progress.
Build positive relationships with students and use effective behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback where required.
    Requirements

Experience teaching or tutoring Maths to secondary-aged students is essential.
Confident teaching KS3, KS4 and Higher GCSE Maths.
Experience supporting students with SEMH or other additional needs is highly desirable.
Students can present with extremely challenging behaviour, so resilience, patience and a calm, consistent approach are essential. The successful candidate must be confident managing behaviours positively while maintaining high expectations.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage learners who may have experienced barriers to education.
A teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent) is preferred but not essential. Candidates with relevant tutoring or teaching experience are encouraged to apply.
    What We Offer

    Consistent part-time hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 11:00am).
Opportunity for additional working hours from December.
Small class sizes of up to 8 students.
Supportive school environment with established teaching resources.
Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and wellbeing of young people.
