How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As Project Manager you will lead a £2.5m-£3m emissions-reduction project from feasibility through to the installation, commissioning and handover of a new industrial scrubber system.

    A market-leading, manufacturing organisation requires an experienced Engineering Project Manager to deliver a major capital project at its Newcastle Facility.

    Potential for further contract opportunities across the groupThe Engineering Project Manager role:

    You will join during the current feasibility stage and take ownership of the project through detailed design, procurement, installation, commissioning and final handover.

    Working with the central procurement team, you will manage the RFQ/RFT process before selecting and managing the OEM, specialist suppliers and contractors responsible for delivering the new scrubber system.

    Key responsibilities of Engineering Project Manager:

    Review and develop the current feasibility work
    Manage project scope, programme, budget, risk and change
    Lead the RFQ/RFT and supplier-selection process
    Manage OEMs and contractors through design and installation
    Coordinate mechanical, electrical, civil and process workstreams
    Oversee commissioning, performance testing and handover
    Act as Principal Contractor and ensure compliance with CDMAbout you as Engineering Project Manager:

    Proven cradle-to-grave capital-project delivery experience
    Experience managing OEMs, suppliers and contractors
    Ideally experienced in scrubbers, emissions control, process plant or comparable industrial installations
    Strong knowledge of CDM and contractor management
    Ideally HNC, HND or degree-qualified in an engineering discipline
