How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    MMP Consultancy are looking for an Estimator, who will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of projects. Working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams, you'll ensure that tenders are commercially sound, profitable, and submitted on time.

    Key Responsibilities

    Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
    Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing submissions.
    Carry out quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
    Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
    Assess project risks and identify value engineering opportunities.
    Prepare and submit competitive tenders within deadlines.
    Maintain up-to-date records of labour, material, and subcontractor costs.
    Liaise with operational and commercial teams during project handovers.
    Support contract negotiations and client discussions where required.
    Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to ensure competitive bids.
    About You

    Previous experience as an Estimator within construction, engineering, manufacturing, fit-out, or a related industry.
    Strong commercial awareness and cost analysis skills.
    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
    Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
    Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Desirable

    HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
    Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent).
    Knowledge of contract administration and commercial management principles.
