How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Depot Engineer – Nationwide Service Provider – Smethwick – Full Training Provided - Salary: £29,120 - £31,200 + 20 Days Holiday + bank + pension + Workwear + Full Training Provided

    * Do you have experience of servicing, repairing, maintaining and inspecting mechanical equipment, systems or machinery?

    Joining their depot based in Oldbury which is their centre of excellence for moving decks you will be trained on how to inspect, repair, service and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems on moving decks on HGV vehicles which will include changing ropes, pulleys, hydraulic rams as well as running trunking and wiring.

    * Comprehensive workshop training where you will shadow one of their many long serving Engineers.

    You will ideally be qualified to NVQ level or equivalent in mechanical engineering, vehicle mechanics, plant machinery or similar; be comfortable using a range of hand tools; have previous experience in repairing, maintaining or servicing mechanical equipment, plant or machinery and have experience in or an understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and basic fault finding on electrical systems although full training will be provided.

    Working hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm with 1 hour lunch.

    Consideration would also be given to enthusiastic a semi-skilled Mechanics, Fitters, Maintenance Engineers or similar who is now looking to progress their career, develop both their technical knowledge and practical skills within a business that offer genuine career progression
