How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are working with an established and highly regarded manufacturing company in Macclesfield that produces a varied range of products for a broad customer base. Its operations cover several manufacturing disciplines.

    This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Quality & Environmental Manager who is comfortable operating at both a strategic and practical level. You will be responsible for the continued development and management of the company’s ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems, while also playing an active role in addressing shop floor quality issues, customer complaints and wider improvement projects.

    The Quality & Environmental Manager position would suit someone who enjoys a varied, fast-moving manufacturing environment and is confident working closely with production teams to raise standards, improve performance and strengthen customer satisfaction.

    The Quality & Environmental Manager Role

    You will oversee and improve the company’s quality and environmental management systems, ensuring products and processes continue to meet customer expectations, regulatory standards and certification requirements.

    Key responsibilities for the Quality & Environmental Manager will include:

    * Maintaining and improving the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

    * Managing internal and external audits and supporting successful certification and surveillance outcomes

    * Investigating customer complaints and quality concerns through structured problem-solving techniques

    * Working directly with production teams to resolve quality issues on the shop floor

    * Leading root cause investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement activity

    * Tracking quality and environmental performance and reporting against key measures and KPIs

    * Building effective relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues across the business

    * Supporting new product introduction activity and manufacturing process improvements

    * Encouraging a strong and positive quality culture throughout the company

    * Maintaining compliance with applicable environmental legislation and supporting the organisation’s sustainability goals

    About You

    We are looking for a practical and proactive Quality & Environmental Manager who can combine ownership of management systems with day-to-day operational support.

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    * Previous experience as a Quality Manager, Quality & Environmental Manager or Senior Quality Engineer within a manufacturing business

    * Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

    * Experience of leading audits and managing external certification requirements

    * Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis and corrective action experience

    * The confidence to work with customers and production teams to resolve quality concerns

    * A hands-on approach and a willingness to maintain a visible presence on the shop floor

    * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

    * Experience within a varied manufacturing environment involving multiple production processes would be beneficial

    What’s on Offer?

    * Salary of £50,000 to £55,000

    * Attractive company benefits

    * A secure and well-established employer

    * A varied manufacturing setting offering a broad range of technical challenges

    * The opportunity to shape quality and environmental performance across the business

    * Supportive senior leadership and genuine long-term career opportunities

    This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a visible impact in a position that combines leadership, management systems and hands-on quality improvement.
