How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What We’re Looking For
    • Technical Product Knowledge: Hands-on experience handling key commercial lines, including Commercial Combined, Motor Fleet, Public/Employers’ Liability, and Financial Lines (e.g., D&O, PI).
    • Software Experience: Acturis experience is highly desirable (though candidates proficient in other broking systems like Applied Epic or Open GI will also be considered).
    • Brokerage Background: Solid experience working within an established commercial insurance broker.
    • Certifications: Working towards or keen to progress with your CII qualifications (Cert CII / Dip CII preferred; full financial & study support provided).
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
    What We Offer
    • Competitive Base Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE.
    • Flexible Hybrid Working: Balanced structure allowing you to split time between home and our Middlesex office.
    • Generous Leave: 26 days annual leave + standard UK Bank Holidays.
    • Flexible Benefits Package: Tailor your benefits to your lifestyle (options typically include private medical insurance, pension scheme enhancements, gym memberships, and cycle-to-work schemes).
    • Career Development: Dedicated support and sponsorship for CII qualifications and clear long-term career progression routes.
