How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Civil Engineers x 2 (London)

Data Centres | Mission Critical Infrastructure | Hybrid Working | 9-Day Fortnight
We're recruiting on behalf of a leading international multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that's redefining how complex buildings are designed and delivered.
With an impressive portfolio spanning Data Centres, healthcare, commercial developments and large-scale infrastructure, this is an opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's brightest engineers, architects and designers on projects that genuinely shape the built environment.
If you're looking for a role where you'll be challenged technically, supported professionally and given a clear pathway towards Chartership and career progression, Lord Search and Selection would love to hear from you.

    The Role

As a Civil Engineer, you'll become an integral part of a highly collaborative design team, delivering technically complex projects from concept through to construction.
Working closely with structural engineers, architects, MEP engineers and sustainability specialists, you'll help deliver innovative civil engineering solutions for major developments across the UK and internationally.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to some of the fastest-growing sectors in construction, particularly Data Centres and mission-critical infrastructure.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Producing civil engineering designs for projects from concept through to detailed design.
Designing levels, highways, pavements, drainage, earthworks and flood mitigation strategies.
Coordinating below-ground utilities including drainage, ducts and services.
Liaising with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams.
Managing smaller projects independently whilst supporting larger, more complex schemes.
Preparing technical reports, calculations and design documentation.
Working with local authorities, Building Control, utility providers and statutory bodies to obtain approvals.
    Supporting BIM delivery across projects.

    What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with ambitious Civil Engineers who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and want to continue developing their careers.
    You'll ideally have:

Around 3-5 years' experience within a civil engineering consultancy.
Experience designing highways, drainage, levels, earthworks and external works.
Knowledge of UK design standards including Eurocodes, British Standards and Building Regulations.
Experience working with Local Authorities, the Environment Agency, utility providers and Building Control.
Understanding of Section 104, 106 and 278 approvals would be advantageous.
Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills.
Experience using InfoDrainage (or similar hydraulic modelling software).
    Understanding of BIM workflows.
Revit experience is advantageous, although training can be provided.
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng).
Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (ICE or equivalent).

    What's On Offer?

This is far more than just another Civil Engineering role.
You'll receive one of the strongest employment packages in the industry, including:
    ✔ Competitive salary
✔ 9-Day Fortnight - Every other Friday off with no reduction in salary
    ✔ Hybrid working
✔ 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
    ✔ Private Healthcare
✔ Company pension with matched contributions
    ✔ Paid professional memberships
    ✔ ICE-accredited training programme
✔ Dedicated mentor to support Chartership
✔ Structured career development and regular performance reviews
✔ Exposure to some of Europe's most exciting Data Centre and infrastructure projects
✔ Collaborative, innovative and genuinely supportive working culture
