How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Development Manager

Food Manufacturing | Retail Supply Chain | Sustainable Logistics

    Home Based | UK Wide

Competitive Salary + Uncapped Bonus + Company Car/Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Help Shape the Future of Sustainable Logistics

Are you a commercially driven Business Development Manager with a passion for winning new business and building long-term customer relationships?

Do you have experience selling into food manufacturers, FMCG businesses, retailers or supply chain organisations?

Are you excited by the opportunity to represent a business that is genuinely transforming the future of UK logistics through innovation and sustainability?

If so, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Our client is one of the UK's most progressive refrigerated logistics businesses and is leading the way in sustainable transport, investing heavily in one of the country's first fully electric refrigerated HGV fleets.

Working with many of the UK's leading food manufacturers, growers, producers and supermarket suppliers, they are helping customers reduce their carbon footprint whilst maintaining exceptional service, reliability and supply chain performance.

As part of an ambitious growth strategy, they are now looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to help expand their customer base and develop long-term strategic partnerships across the UK.

    The Opportunity

This is a genuine new business role where you'll have the autonomy to identify opportunities, develop relationships and win strategic accounts.

Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you'll be responsible for developing new business across the food manufacturing, FMCG, retail and supply chain sectors, introducing customers to a genuinely differentiated logistics solution.

You'll engage with key decision-makers including Commercial Directors, Procurement Managers, Supply Chain Directors, Operations Managers and Board-level stakeholders, taking a consultative approach to understanding their logistics challenges before developing tailored solutions that add real commercial value.

This isn't simply about selling transport services. It's about helping customers improve efficiency, strengthen their supply chains and achieve their sustainability objectives through innovative logistics solutions.

    What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, commercially driven and enjoys opening doors and developing long-term customer relationships.

You'll probably have experience selling products or services into one or more of the following sectors:

    * Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Fresh Produce, Food Processing

    * Supermarket Supply Chains, Retail, Logistics

    * Warehousing, Cold Chain, Distribution, Packaging

    * Supply Chain Solutions

    You will also demonstrate:

    * A proven track record of winning new business within a B2B environment.

    * Experience managing complex sales cycles and building strategic customer relationships.

    * The ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers.

    * A consultative approach with excellent listening and communication skills.

    * Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for long-term growth.

    * Excellent presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

    * A proactive, self-motivated approach with the resilience and determination to develop new business.

Previous experience within logistics or transport would be advantageous, but equally important is your understanding of the food supply chain and your ability to develop commercial relationships within the sector.

    Why Join?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that is genuinely doing things differently.

You'll be joining a collaborative, forward-thinking organisation where your ideas are valued and your success is recognised. You'll have the opportunity to influence the commercial direction of the business whilst working alongside an ambitious leadership team committed to long-term growth.

    In return you'll benefit from:

    * The opportunity to represent one of the UK's most innovative logistics businesses.

    * A genuinely unique and market-leading sustainability proposition.

    * Significant autonomy to develop your own customer portfolio.

    * A collaborative and supportive culture where success is celebrated.

    * The opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business.

    * Excellent long-term career prospects as the business continues to expand.

If you're passionate about building relationships, winning new business and helping customers transform their supply chains through innovative and sustainable logistics solutions, we'd love to hear from you
