How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client, an established international Health, Safety and Environmental consultancy, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to join its growing Project Services team.

This is a varied home-based role supporting an extensive portfolio of clients across retail estates, commercial offices, industrial facilities, media organisations and mixed-use commercial buildings.

You will deliver both long-term projects and shorter consultancy assignments, working with businesses ranging from individual sites to complex multinational organisations.

    The Role

You will provide practical Health, Safety and Environmental consultancy support, engaging confidently with stakeholders from operational teams through to senior executives and board-level directors.

The role offers considerable variety and autonomy. You will manage your own workload, deliver projects through to completion and help clients improve their health, safety and environmental performance across multi-site property portfolios.

    Key Responsibilities

Deliver Health, Safety and Environmental consultancy projects from initial scoping through to successful completion.

Provide practical and proportionate advice to operational teams, senior management and board-level stakeholders.
Produce clear, professional reports with prioritised and actionable recommendations.
Help clients improve compliance, reduce risk and strengthen their overall HSE performance.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
Contribute to proposals, presentations and the continued development of consultancy services.
Work collaboratively with other consultants when delivering larger or multidisciplinary projects.
Take responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timely delivery of your own work.

    Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate should ideally possess:

Strong experience working within an EHS, HSE or Health and Safety consultancy environment.
Graduate membership of IOSH, supported by current and up-to-date CPD.
Practitioner membership of IEMA or a comparable environmental qualification.
An EHS auditing qualification, ideally at Lead Auditor level.
Experience developing and implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
Experience delivering compliance audits and risk assessments across multi-site organisations.
Experience completing fire risk assessments across commercial property portfolios (desirable, not essential - training and development can be provided).
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage several assignments simultaneously.
Experience working with multiple stakeholders where competing priorities must be managed effectively.
Commercial awareness and experience working towards consultancy performance targets.
The confidence to present and influence stakeholders at every level of an organisation.
