How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Experienced Mechanic & MOT Tester – Attractive Salary & Bonus Scheme

    We are looking for an experienced and reliable Mechanic & MOT Tester to join our busy, well‑equipped workshop. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in high‑quality workmanship, has strong diagnostic skills, and can carry out MOT testing to DVSA standards with confidence and accuracy.

    About the Role

    * Carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations

    * Diagnose faults and complete mechanical repairs to a high standard

    * Perform servicing, brakes, suspension, clutches, exhausts, and general repairs

    * Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues quickly and accurately

    * Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and professionally

    * Maintain accurate MOT and repair documentation

    * Work independently and as part of a friendly, supportive team

    What We’re Looking For

    * Qualified MOT Tester (Class 4) with valid DVSA licence

    * Strong mechanical experience (minimum 5–10 years preferred)

    * Confident diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles

    * Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work

    * Good communication skills and a professional, customer‑focused attitude

    * Reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure

    £40,560 – £50,700 per year (Equivalent to £20–£25 per hour, based on a 39‑hour week)
