How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Social Value Lead

    Somerset

    £50,000 - £65,000 + Travel Allowance + Bonus + Pension + Private Medical + Holidays + Package + Immediate Start

This is an opportunity to become one of the first Social Value Leads within a leading international general contractor, playing a key role on one of the UK's largest and most high-profile construction projects.

Working on the construction of a landmark construction facility in Somerset, you will be responsible for driving the project's social value strategy, ensuring the development leaves a lasting positive impact on the local community throughout the construction lifecycle and beyond.

This business continues to secure major projects across the UK and Europe, creating genuine long-term career opportunities within sustainability, ESG and corporate responsibility as the company continues to expand.

As Social Value Lead, you will work closely with project leadership, local authorities, education providers, community groups, subcontractors and supply chain partners to maximise the economic, environmental and social benefits generated by the project.

Your Role as Social Value Lead Will Include:

Developing and delivering the project's social value strategy.
Building strong relationships with local communities, councils, schools, colleges and employment organisations.
Working with subcontractors and supply chain partners to maximise local recruitment and procurement opportunities.
Monitoring and reporting social value performance, including local employment, community engagement and economic impact.
Supporting sustainability and ESG objectives across the wider project team.
As Social Value Lead You Will Have:

Experience delivering social value, community engagement, CSR, ESG or sustainability initiatives within construction, infrastructure or major projects.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
The ability to engage subcontractors and supply chain partners to deliver measurable social value outcomes.
Passion for creating long-term positive impacts within local communities.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a brand-new function within the business whilst contributing to one of the UK's most significant construction projects. If you're looking to make a genuine difference to both the project and the surrounding community, this role offers the platform to do exactly that.
