Key Responsibilities
* The post holder provides professional, operational and clinical leadership across Theatre, Endoscopy, Day Surgery Ward and Outpatients, ensuring safe, effective, responsive and patient-centred care.
* The Matron leads the Heads of Department, maintains oversight of rotas, staffing, workforce deployment, clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, internal CQC standards and inspection readiness.
* Acts as the site clinical lead for patient flow, utilisation, productivity and cancellations, escalating risks and performance matters at Corporate level.
* Lead clinical governance activity for the centre, maintaining internal CQC standards and inspection readiness across clinical services on site.
* Monitor compliance with relevant national guidance, including GIRFT, BADS, NICE, NHS England recommendations and professional standards.
Person Specification:
* Registered healthcare professional with current NMC or HCPC registration.
* Significant senior clinical leadership experience within acute surgical healthcare setting.
* Experience leading multiple clinical departments or multi-specialty clinical services.
* Experience leading clinical governance, audit, incident investigation and quality improvement activity.
