How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently supporting a large NHS organisation in the appointment of a senior Clinical Governance professional with a key focus on Maternity and Neonatal Services. Due to the nature of this position, the candidate must hold a current registration with the NMC as a Registered Midwife.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Developing, implementing and monitoring an effective and compliant system of working to ensure robust divisional governance which is in line with national best practice and aligns across divisions.

    * Assuming divisional responsibility for managing the governance staff dealing with all activities relating to patient safety, risk, compliance and audit and patient experience and act as the divisional lead and central point of contact for all divisional governance activities.

    * Acting as a pre-emptive, self-relating practitioner who horizon scans to ensure the divisional governance activities remain in line with current best practice.

    * Developing a culture of informed questioning, challenge, trend analysis triangulation, challenge and assurance to ensure lessons are learned and the division changes practice in a way which has a positive effect on patient, outcomes, patient outcomes, patient experience and reduces harm.

    * The post holder will work closely with the quality governance, operational and corporate management teams and staff at all levels in the organisation.

    Person Specification:

    * Registered midwife with senior level midwifery experience

    * Knowledge of the components of quality governance, risk management and assurance function; current NHS national policies, standards, requirements and directions that relate to measuring and improving the quality and safety of patient care

    * Demonstrable enthusiasm and commitment to Improvement focused patient safety and quality initiatives, research and its application to practice.
