The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our children's residential home. You will play a key role in ensuring the home operates in line with regulatory requirements, company policies and the highest standards of care.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Registered Manager with the effective operation of the home
* Leading and motivating the staff team to deliver outstanding care
* Ensuring safeguarding and child protection procedures are always followed
* Supporting with staff supervision, development and performance management
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care planning processes
* Assisting with audits, inspections and regulatory compliance
* Acting as a positive role model for both staff and young people
* Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent)
* A minimum of 3–4 years' experience working within a residential childcare setting or equivalent
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, childcare legislation and residential care standards
* Previous experience supervising or leading staff teams
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* The ability to build positive relationships with children, young people and professionals
* A flexible and proactive approach to supporting the needs of the service
