How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Materials Coordinator / Materials Co-ordinator to support a major carbon capture project based in Hartlepool, Teesside. This is a short term contract role (outside of IR35) and you must be available to commence work from early August.
    We are looking for an experienced materials professional with a strong background in materials management, material handling and project logistics, ideally with experience of quayside operations, vessel loading and discharging, port operations and the movement of materials and equipment.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a Materials Coordinator / Materials Co-ordinator with experience gained within Oil & Gas, Energy, Offshore, Marine, Renewables, Engineering, EPC or other major project environments.
    Key Responsibilities:
    *
    Checking and manifesting container contents and raising Dangerous Goods Notes (DGN) as required.
    *
    Ensuring containers are correctly loaded and that materials and equipment are securely fastened and prepared for transportation.
    *
    Overseeing quayside operations, including the loading and discharging of vessels.
    *
    Liaising with project personnel, logistics teams and vessel representatives to coordinate vessel port calls and material movements.
    *
    Ensuring required project materials and equipment are dispatched safely and in line with project requirements and schedules.
    *
    Coordinating the movement and handling of materials and equipment between project locations, vessels and relevant logistics bases.
    *
    Ensuring relevant customs procedures are correctly followed for material imports and exports.
    *
    Maintaining accurate documentation and records relating to materials, containers, cargo and shipments.
    *
    Supporting the safe, efficient and timely movement of project materials and equipment.
    The successful candidate will have:
    *
    6+ years' experience in materials coordination, materials management or a similar role.
    *
    Strong experience overseeing material handling and logistics operations within a project environment.
    *
    Previous experience with quayside, port, marine or vessel operations.
    *
    Experience of vessel loading and discharging and coordinating the movement of materials and equipment.
    *
    Experience working with containers, manifests and project cargo.
    *
    Knowledge or experience of Dangerous Goods requirements, ideally including the preparation or raising of Dangerous Goods Notes.
    *
    Experience of material imports and exports, including customs procedures.
    *
    Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with project teams, logistics personnel, contractors and vessel representatives.
    *
    Excellent organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple material movements and activities safely and efficiently.
