How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Production / AIT Planner

Oxfordshire | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary + Benefits

I'm currently working with an innovative organisation operating at the forefront of the UK space industry, developing cutting-edge satellite and space technologies for commercial and government programmes. Due to continued growth, they're looking to add a Senior Production / AIT Planner to their engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in production planning, manufacturing engineering or Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) within a highly regulated engineering environment.

    The Role

You'll be responsible for planning and coordinating production and AIT activities across complex engineering programmes, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Planning and managing production schedules and AIT workflows

    * Creating and maintaining manufacturing routings and work instructions

    * Coordinating engineering, procurement, quality and manufacturing teams to resolve production issues

    * Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

    * Managing production data, risk registers and progress reporting through ERP/MES systems

    * Supporting configuration control and compliance with industry quality standards

    * Working closely with Quality to manage non-conformances and improve production processes

    * Mentoring junior planners and technicians while helping to improve manufacturing best practice

    What They're Looking For

    * A degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Aerospace or Industrial Engineering (or a related discipline)

    * Around 4-6 years' experience within production engineering, manufacturing planning or AIT

    * Experience working within aerospace, space, satellite, defence or another highly regulated manufacturing environment

    * Strong project planning and cross-functional coordination skills

    * Experience using ERP/MES systems and production planning tools

    * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green Belt or equivalent preferred)

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience with satellite systems, phased array technology or space hardware would be beneficial but isn't essential.

If you're interested in hearing more, please apply with your latest CV and I'll be happy to provide further information
