How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Established in 2003, HCC has completed over 650,000 square feet of development to date, HCC currently has 172 units on site across two sites. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team at an established company with a track record that speaks for itself.

HCC is part of a vertically integrated group of companies owned by the same common owner. You will therefore be working alongside and have the support of our in house architectural design firm, Primary Secondary Design Ltd and our developer, Medcentres Plc.

This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of a construction company where you’ll experience projects throughout their entire lifecycle – from concept and planning to delivery and handover.

The project you will be working on

    Stalham Extra-care and housing

    * Extra Care: 61 self-contained extra care flats for independent living (due for completion Q1 2027)

    * Housing: 34 houses (due for completion Summer 2027)

You’ll be part of a team of 4 person team which consists of a site manager, a senior site manager, a senior QS and director. You will work with internal teams and external partners to make sure the job is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Day-to-day site management, coordination, and supervision of subcontractors and trades

    * Ensure health & safety is maintained to the highest standards at all times

    * Oversee site logistics, scheduling, and sequencing of works

    * Monitor quality and progress against programme

    * Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor, Contracts Manager, and in-house Architect team

    * Manage site documentation, toolbox talks, and reporting

    * Liaise with client representatives and local authorities as needed

    * Help deliver a positive, proactive site culture

    About You

    * Proven experience as a Site Manager in residential or healthcare construction

    * Track record of delivering multi-unit schemes

    * Strong knowledge of construction methods, H&S, and site management best practice

    * SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS qualifications essential

    * Excellent communication and leadership skills

    * Willingness to travel to projects across our core regions (East Anglia, South, Midlands)

    * Full UK driving licence required

    Why Join Us?

    * Be part of a successful contractor with a proven track record and genuine team ethos that is part of a wider group

    * Work within a business that is fully integrated with both an architectural and development, giving you insight and influence from design to delivery

    * Take ownership of meaningful projects that support communities and deliver specialist affordable housing

    * Enjoy a permanent role with room to grow as we expand our pipeline

    * Flexible working - we would consider a short term contract (6 - 12 months) if this was a candidates preference
