How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Advert
Bidwells is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to champion a positive safety culture across our Investment & Property Management business. Reporting to the Head of Facilities and working closely with our Executive Director of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, our successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and practical guidance to ensure health, safety and risk management are embedded throughout our operations.

This is an opportunity for someone to influence decision-making at every level, drive continuous improvement, and help protect the people who work, live, study and visit the properties we manage. Alongside supporting our IPM teams, our successful hire will also contribute to Bidwells' wider Health, Safety & Wellbeing strategy, helping to share best practice and raise standards across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Health & Safety professional to play a key role in supporting a nationally significant property portfolio while helping to shape and strengthen Bidwells' health, safety, and risk management culture.

    Investment and Property Management
At Bidwells, we're one of the UK's leading property advisers, working across some of the country's most dynamic markets. Our Investment & Property Management team manages a diverse portfolio of commercial properties and development land for prestigious clients, including University Colleges and Institutional Investors. By combining technical expertise with a forward-thinking approach, we help clients maximise the value of their property assets through strategic property management, facilities management, acquisitions, disposals and development.

    What You'll Be Doing

Lead and promote a proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture across a national property portfolio.
Develop and implement health and safety strategies that align with legislation, industry best practice and client expectations.
Deliver audits, inspections and assurance programmes, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Provide expert advice to Property and Facilities Management teams on key health and safety legislation, including CDM, the Building Safety Act, fire safety and the Health & Safety at Work Act.
Support contractor management and supply chain assurance, promoting safe and compliant working practices.
Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and embedding lessons learned.
Produce insightful reports for senior leaders and clients, using data to drive informed decisions and improve performance.
Coach and support colleagues through training, mentoring and the development of health and safety capability across the business.
Contribute to maintaining our ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System and support wider business initiatives to continually improve standards.

    About you:
    Qualifications:

NEBOSH National Diploma Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).

    Experience:

Previous experience in a Health & Safety management role.
Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation relating to commercial property environments.
Understanding of facilities management operations and service delivery.
Experience implementing and maintaining health and safety management systems and processes.
Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
Pragmatic, solutions-focused with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Confident communicator, able to build relationships with colleagues, clients and senior leaders.
Professional, accountable and committed to continuous improvement and development.
Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

    Why Bidwells?
We're a different kind of property consultancy. While we're a major player in the industry, we've remained an independent, privately-owned Partnership where people are trusted, supported and empowered to make a difference.
As a certified B Corporation, we're committed to using business as a force for good—creating long-term value for our clients, our communities and the environment.

When you join Bidwells, you'll enjoy:

Competitive salary and performance bonus that recognises your contribution.
Comprehensive benefits, including up to 8% matched pension, private medical cover, Medicash, lifestyle discounts and more.
Generous annual leave, with a minimum of 28 days plus bank holidays, your birthday off and a dedicated wellness day.
Paid sabbaticals and enhanced family leave policies.
Excellent career progression, with ongoing professional development, study support and opportunities to progress.
Agile working, helping you achieve a healthy work-life balance.
The opportunity to work on exciting, high-quality projects alongside some of the industry's most respected professionals.
