How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    THE ROLE
    As a Trainee Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator, you will receive comprehensive training to accurately inspect damaged vehicles, prepare repair estimates, and coordinate repairs from initial assessment through to completion.
    Working alongside experienced Vehicle Damage Assessors and the wider bodyshop team, you'll learn how to provide exceptional customer service while ensuring repairs are completed efficiently and in line with manufacturer and insurance standards.

    Key Responsibilities:
    ·Assist with inspecting and assessing accident-damaged vehicles
    ·Learn how to prepare accurate repair estimates using recognised estimating systems
    ·Identify repair methods, replacement parts, labour times, and repair costs
    ·Liaise with customers, insurance companies, engineers, and workshop staff throughout the repair process
    ·Monitor repair progress and provide customers with timely updates
    ·Work closely with Panel, MET, and Paint Technicians to ensure repair methods are accurate and achievable
    ·Ensure all documentation complies with manufacturer repair methods, insurance requirements, and BS10125 standards
    ·Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining accurate repair records and administration

    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about the automotive industry and eager to develop a successful career as a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator.

    ·Previous experience within the automotive or accident repair industry is advantageous
    ·Background as a Bodyshop Technician, Panel Beater, MET Technician, Paint Technician, Parts Advisor, Service Advisor, or Vehicle Technician would be beneficial
    ·Excellent communication and customer service skills
    ·Strong organisational and time management abilities
    ·Good computer literacy with a willingness to learn estimating software
    ·High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability
    ·Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop professionally
    ·Ability to work effectively within a busy team environment
    ·Full UK Driving Licence required
