Exams Manager Location: Moulton, Northamptonshire
Salary: £38,000–£45,000 per annum

Think FE is recruiting an experienced Exams Manager for a well-established specialist further education college in the Northamptonshire countryside. The college offers an impressive range of technical and vocational programmes, supported by extensive purpose-built facilities.
This is a key management position with responsibility for leading the college’s examinations function and ensuring that every examination and assessment process is accurate, secure and fully compliant.
The role As Exams Manager, you will oversee the effective delivery of examinations across the college, working closely with curriculum teams, awarding organisations and internal support departments.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the planning and delivery of all examination timetables and processes
Ensuring compliance with JCQ requirements and awarding organisation regulations
Acting as the college’s principal contact for awarding organisations
Maintaining secure examination materials and robust exam-security procedures
Managing student examination records, results and achievement information
Coordinating invigilators and ensuring appropriate staffing for examination sessions
Managing the examinations budget and monitoring expenditure
Producing accurate reports for senior leaders and curriculum teams
Resolving examination queries, discrepancies and regulatory issues
Working with teaching and support teams to ensure entries, amendments and results are processed accurately and on time
Leading, supporting and developing colleagues within the examinations function
About you The ideal applicant will be a current Exams Manager or an experienced Senior Exams Officer from a further education college, sixth form or large secondary school.
You should have:
Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations and awarding organisation requirements
Significant experience coordinating examinations within an education setting
An excellent understanding of examination compliance, security and administration
Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Experience managing budgets, processes or team members
The ability to work calmly and accurately during busy examination periods
Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across a college
Applications are also welcomed from experienced Exams Officers, Exams Team Leaders and MIS or Registry professionals who have coordinated examinations and awarding organisation processes and are ready to progress into a management role.
Candidates with broader education administration experience may also be considered where they have supported examinations, assessments, student records or MIS processes. These applicants should have strong administrative and communication skills, alongside GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above.
