How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading drylining contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join its Southern delivery team.

    The successful candidate will initially take responsibility for a live project in Southampton, which is expected to run through to the end of 2026. Beyond this project, the business has a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work across the South Coast.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Drylining Site Manager to join a well-established specialist contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects. You will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the drylining package, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the agreed programme.

    You will work closely with the Contracts Manager, commercial team, site labour and subcontractors, as well as maintaining a strong working relationship with the client and wider project team.

    Responsibilities will include:

    * Taking day-to-day responsibility for the management of drylining works on site

    * Managing site teams, subcontractors and directly employed labour

    * Ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to the required standard

    * Coordinating labour, materials, deliveries and plant

    * Monitoring progress against the construction programme

    * Planning ahead to identify labour and material requirements

    * Attending progress meetings and liaising with the client, main contractor and other trades

    * Managing quality control and ensuring any defects or issues are resolved promptly

    * Carrying out site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings

    * Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed

    * Maintaining accurate site records, reports and paperwork

    * Reviewing drawings, specifications and programme requirements

    * Identifying potential delays or problems and taking action to keep the project on track

    * Supporting the Contracts Manager with progress updates and project reporting

    * Ensuring the site is kept organised, professional and well managed throughout the project

    The ideal candidate will have:

    * Previous experience working as a Site Manager within the drylining sector

    * Strong technical knowledge of drylining, metal stud partitions, suspended ceilings and associated interior packages

    * Experience managing projects for a specialist subcontractor

    * A proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time and to a high standard

    * The ability to manage labour, subcontractors and multiple work areas

    * Strong communication and organisational skills

    * A proactive approach to planning and problem-solving

    * The confidence to liaise directly with clients and main contractors

    * Good knowledge of construction health and safety requirements

    * SMSTS

    * First Aid

    * Relevant CSCS card

    The role would suit an experienced Drylining Site Manager looking for a stable, long-term position with a contractor that has a healthy workload across Southampton and the wider South Coast.

    A competitive salary and package are available, depending on experience.
