How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Bridgend
    £28,000 - £31,000 + Development + Progression + Holidays + Pension
    6-Month Fixed-Term Contract - Immediate Start

    Are you an IT Technician or IT Support professional looking to join a growing Managed Service Provider where you will provide essential on-site support within a secondary school environment?

    Brilliant opportunity on offer to develop your technical experience while supporting a wide range of computer hardware, software, network systems and digital learning platforms within a busy educational environment.

    This growing Managed Service Provider delivers technical support to schools and educational organisations. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a proactive Secondary School IT Technician to provide on-site support at a school in the Bridgend area.

    In this role, you will provide first-line technical support, diagnose hardware, software and network issues, manage helpdesk tickets and configure IT equipment. You will also support Windows, Mac and Chrome operating systems alongside Office 365, Google Workspace and mobile-device-management platforms.

    This is an ideal opportunity for an IT enthusiast with strong problem-solving and customer-service skills looking to develop their career within a growing technology business that can offer further opportunities.

    THE ROLE:
    * Providing first-line support for hardware, software and network-related issues
    * Managing helpdesk tickets and completing tasks within agreed SLA timeframes
    * Building, configuring and installing PCs, laptops and software applications
    * Supporting Windows, Mac and Chrome operating systems, Office 365 and Google Workspace
    * Troubleshooting printers, scanners, photocopiers, audiovisual equipment and Wi-Fi networks
    * Supporting mobile devices through Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace for Education and the Hwb Digital Learning Platform

    THE PERSON:
    * IT qualification at Level 2 or five GCSEs at grades A-C, or equivalent
    * Experience providing IT support or a strong interest in developing within the IT sector
    * Familiarity with hardware, software and basic network troubleshooting
    * Highly organised with strong problem-solving and workload-management skills
    * Comfortable working independently while being supported by the wider Cardiff-based team
    * Customer-focused with a professional and approachable manner
