How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role – Senior Landscape Architect

    Location – Greater Manchester

    Salary - £DOE

    LEAD Careers are working with an award-winning landscape architecture studio that is looking to recruit a Senior Landscape Architect to join its growing team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to play a key role within a collaborative studio, working on a broad mix of landscape architecture projects from initial concept through to planning and detailed design. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced team, taking ownership of projects while contributing creative ideas and supporting the development of more junior members of staff. With a healthy pipeline of work and genuine opportunities for progression, this is an ideal role for someone looking to take the next step in their career.

    Based in the centre of Manchester, the office is easy to get to whether you're travelling by train, tram, bus or car. With major transport links just a short walk away, commuting is simple from across Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas. You'll also have plenty of cafés, restaurants, shops and other city centre amenities right on your doorstep, making it a great place to work.

    THE ROLE

    The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of project delivery, including:

    * Leading landscape architecture projects through all design stages

    * Producing landscape strategies, masterplans and detailed design packages

    * Preparing planting plans, hard landscape layouts and technical drawings

    * Supporting planning applications and associated landscape documentation

    * Liaising with clients, architects, planners and multidisciplinary consultant teams

    * Attending meetings and site visits

    * Managing project programmes and delivering work to agreed deadlines

    ABOUT YOU

    * A degree/postgraduate degree in Landscape Architecture

    * Chartered status or be working towards Chartership

    * Experience working within a UK landscape architecture consultancy

    * Strong design, technical and project delivery skills

    * Good knowledge of the UK planning process

    * Software skills AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, Visualisation software
