How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Project Manager / Senior Site Manager
    Manchester - Student Accomodation

    We are working with a leading UK construction business that has secured an exciting new project in Manchester and is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of the delivery of a landmark purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme.
    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering a technically challenging city-centre development, comprising a 10-storey reinforced concrete (RC) framed structure, incorporating high-quality student accommodation, extensive communal areas, and complex building services installations.
    The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of the project from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, programme control and commercial performance.
    The Role
    As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the construction project, coordinating internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders to ensure the scheme is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
    You will lead the delivery of a technically demanding PBSA development, managing the interfaces between the RC frame, envelope, MEP services, internal fit-out and specialist subcontract packages.
    Key responsibilities will include:

    Overall management and delivery of the project from mobilisation through to practical completion
    Leading and coordinating subcontractors, specialist contractors and site teams
    Managing the delivery of the reinforced concrete frame structure and subsequent construction phases
    Ensuring programmes are developed, maintained and achieved through effective planning and coordination
    Working closely with the commercial team to monitor progress, variations, risks and opportunities
    Driving health & safety standards and ensuring compliance with CDM regulations
    Managing quality assurance processes, inspections, snagging and handover requirements
    Chairing progress meetings with subcontractors, consultants and client representatives
    Reviewing design information, resolving technical queries and managing design coordination
    Ensuring all works are delivered in line with the contract requirements, specifications and programme
    Managing relationsh
    Supporting the successful completion and handover of the PBSA development
    You will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record delivering complex construction projects for a main contractor.
    Ideally, you will have experience delivering projects within sectors such as:

    Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA)
    Residential developments
    High-rise or multi-storey RC frame schemes
    City-centre developments
    Commercial or mixed-use projects
    You will have strong technical knowledge of construction delivery, with the ability to manage multiple subcontract packages and coordinate complex build sequences.
    The ideal candidate will have:

    Previous experience working for a tier-one or established main contractor
    Strong experience managing reinforced concrete frame structures
    Proven subcontractor management skills
    Excellent programme and delivery management experience
    A strong understanding of quality, health & safety and construction best practice
    Excellent communication and leadership skills
