How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An inside IR35 opportunity exists for a CAD Technician with experience working for a tier one civil engineering contractor on a large infrastructure project.

    Working alongside Engineers, Design Managers and Construction Teams, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining accurate engineering drawings and models throughout the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile infrastructure scheme and contribute to the successful delivery of a nationally significant project.

    Candidates who have worked on civils for the following projects are sought – major substations, power infrastructure, energy plants, treatment works, nuclear, industrial and process plants

    Key Responsibilities

    Produce and amend 2D and 3D engineering drawings using AutoCAD and associated software.

    Develop site layouts, drainage drawings, earthworks plans, foundation details and utility coordination drawings.

    Convert survey information and engineering mark-ups into construction-ready drawings.

    Support setting-out activities by preparing accurate engineering drawings and coordinate information.

    Produce and maintain as-built records throughout the construction phase.

    Coordinate drawings across multiple disciplines including civils, structural, mechanical and electrical teams.

    Manage drawing revisions and ensure compliance with project document control procedures.

    Support BIM and Digital Engineering requirements where applicable.

    Attend technical and design coordination meetings.

    Assist site teams with technical drawing queries and design updates.

    Requirements

    Previous experience as a CAD Technician within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy, rail, highways or water projects.

    Proficient in AutoCAD with experience producing detailed engineering drawings.

    Ability to interpret engineering designs, specifications and survey information.

    Experience working within a Tier 1 contractor or major infrastructure environment would be advantageous.

    Knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks or BIM methodologies is desirable.

    Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously.

    Excellent communication and coordination skills.
