How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Director of Finance & Corporate Services

    Location: Hammersmith, London
    Salary: Up to £90,000 per annum
    Sector: Social Housing

    An established and respected Housing Association is seeking an experienced Director of Finance & Corporate Services to join its senior leadership team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic finance professional with a strong background in the social housing sector to play a key role in driving financial sustainability, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the wider corporate functions of the organisation.

    The Role

    Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working as part of the Executive Leadership Team, you will lead the organisation's financial strategy, ensuring robust financial management, governance, and long-term sustainability.

    Alongside leading the finance function, you will also have oversight of key corporate services, including elements of HR, helping to ensure the organisation continues to operate efficiently while supporting its people and delivering excellent services to residents.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and deliver the organisation's financial strategy.
    Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and statutory reporting.
    Ensure compliance with all relevant housing regulations, financial governance requirements and housing legislation.
    Oversee treasury management, cash flow, risk management and financial controls.
    Produce high-quality financial reports and insights for the Executive Team and Board.
    Lead external audit processes and maintain strong relationships with auditors, lenders and regulators.
    Provide strategic oversight of HR and wider corporate services, supporting organisational development and people initiatives.
    Drive continuous improvement across finance and corporate functions.

    About You

    You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant senior finance leadership experience within the social housing sector.

    You'll also have:

    A proven track record in a Director of Finance, Head of Finance or similar senior leadership role.
    Strong knowledge of social housing finance, regulation and housing legislation.
    Experience working with Boards, Executive Teams and external stakeholders.
    An understanding of HR functions and wider corporate services.
    Excellent commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
    Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
    The ability to influence at Executive and Board level while driving organisational performance.
