Head Of HR

We're working exclusively with an established, multi-site organisation to appoint their next Head of HR. Employing around 350 people across several UK locations, this is a successful independent business with ambitious growth plans and a culture built on trust, long-term relationships and practical leadership. 

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you'll play a key role in shaping the organisation's people strategy whilst ensuring the culture that has underpinned its success continues to thrive.  This is far more than a traditional HR leadership role.  We're looking for someone who enjoys being visible across the business, building trusted relationships and helping leaders develop high-performing teams.

What will the Head of HR role involve?

Developing and delivering a people strategy aligned to business growth

Acting as a trusted adviser to the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team

Supporting leadership capability, succession planning and organisational development

Driving employee engagement, wellbeing and retention initiatives

Leading recruitment strategy and talent development

Supporting organisational change across a multi-site operation

Reviewing and improving HR processes to ensure they remain practical, efficient and commercially focused

Leading the HR team and ensuring employment practices remain compliant

Suitable Candidate for the Head of HR role:

We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach. 

Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role

.Experience supporting a growing multi-site organisation

Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance people and business priorities

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills

Experience developing leaders and organisational capability

A visible, approachable leadership style that builds trust across all levels

CIPD qualification or equivalent experience

Experience within distribution, logistics, wholesale, manufacturing or another operational environment would be advantageous

Salary & Benefits for the role of Head of HR:

£75,000 - £80,000 dependent on experience
