How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Design Manager – Estates (Small Works)

    Location: Malvern
    Salary: £70,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Benefits

    An established and highly regarded main contractor is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join its Estates (Small Works) team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy division delivering a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects.

    Working across a varied programme of works, you'll be involved in everything from refurbishment and fit-out projects to new-build commercial developments. This role offers plenty of variety, with projects differing in size, complexity, and programme, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and managing multiple schemes.

    The Role

    As Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to project completion, ensuring design information is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Working closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders, you'll ensure designs are practical, compliant, and fully coordinated to support successful project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage the design process throughout the full project lifecycle.

    * Coordinate architects, consultants, and specialist subcontractors.

    * Review design information for accuracy, buildability, and compliance.

    * Chair and attend design coordination meetings.

    * Monitor design programmes and ensure information is issued in line with project requirements.

    * Identify and resolve technical and design-related issues.

    * Ensure compliance with current legislation, Building Regulations, and client requirements.

    * Support project teams with value engineering and innovative design solutions.

    About You

    The successful candidate will have:

    * Previous experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.

    * Experience delivering commercial refurbishment, fit-out, and new-build projects.

    * Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and design coordination.

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    * A proactive and collaborative approach with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

    What's on Offer

    * Salary of £70,000

    * £5,000 Car Allowance

    * Competitive benefits package

    * A varied workload across refurbishment, fit-out, and new-build commercial projects.

    * Long-term career progression within a successful and growing contractor.

    * A collaborative and supportive working environment where quality and innovation are valued.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager looking to join a respected contractor and play a key role in delivering a diverse range of commercial construction projects
