How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Miller
    £34,362 per annum or £17.86 per hour, plus overtime at 1.5, Permanent, Keynsham BS31, 33 days holiday, working Monday to Friday 37 hour week, core hours 7.30 - 15.30, Flexi time, early finish Friday, pension, sick pay, parking.

    Our client is an established and highly respected manufacturer who operates a friendly team of engineers and has an opportunity to work in a Permanent role or temporary to permanent contract as a cnc miller or cnc machinist where you will manage your own workload with jobs allocated from the engineering supervisor.

    The CNC Miller role involves:

    cnc miller
    Occasional manual milling (not essential)
    Working on milling machines with Heidenhain controls
    Machining precision parts and components
    Producing one off's and small batches.
    Reading engineering drawings
    Working to non-aerospace tolerances
    Install programs including keying from a drawing and downloading from databases, setting and operating as required
    Select appropriate materials for each job as described in the drawings
    Self inspect components and report any manufacturing errors to line manager so corrective action can be agreedRequirements for the cnc Miller or cnc machinist

    The successful is likely to have served an engineering apprenticeship as a skilled cnc miller or cnc machinist. However candidates who are time served in machining could also be suitable if they can demonstrate a suitable track record in cnc milling and machining.
    This would be the ideal role for someone who has worked as a cnc machinist, cnc miller with experience of Heidenhain conversational programming however any of the following controls would be of interest such as Siemens, Fanuc and Mazatrol.
    Machining from engineering drawings often proved out programs but ability to set, operate and edit is a minimum requirementOur client is an established and successful manufacturer who operate globally.
