How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Primary PPA Cover Teacher
    Location: Sutton, London, SM5
    Pay: £160–£200 per day
    Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
    Start date: 1 September 2026
Salary will reflect experience and qualifications in line with the London Teachers Pay Scale.

Transparency Education is recruiting an accomplished and versatile PPA Cover Teacher for a full-time, long-term position within a primary school in the Sutton area.

The successful teacher will provide high-quality class cover while permanent teachers complete their planning, preparation and assessment time. You will teach across a range of year groups, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and is confident adapting their teaching to different ages and abilities.
Unlike daily supply work, this long-term role will allow you to become an established member of the school community, develop strong relationships with pupils and contribute consistently to teaching and learning.
    The role
    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Delivering engaging lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
    • Following medium-term plans and adapting lessons to meet pupils’ needs.
    • Providing consistent PPA cover across an agreed school timetable.
    • Maintaining high expectations for learning, behaviour and participation.
    • Assessing pupils’ understanding and providing feedback to class teachers.
    • Supporting pupils with SEND, English as an additional language and differing attainment levels.
    • Working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders.
    • Contributing to the wider life of the school where appropriate.
    • Following safeguarding, assessment and behaviour procedures consistently.
    • Depending on the successful candidate’s experience, the timetable may include core subjects, foundation subjects or specialist areas such as PE, music, computing or art.

    About you
    You will need:
    • Qualified Teacher Status.
    • Recent and successful primary teaching experience.
    • Secure curriculum knowledge across at least two primary key stages.
    • Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills.
    • The ability to teach confidently from existing plans while adding appropriate creativity and challenge.
    • A flexible approach and the ability to move between classes smoothly.
    • Clear communication and effective teamwork skills.
    • A reliable, organised and professional approach.
    • Experience teaching across several year groups or working as a supply, intervention or PPA teacher would be advantageous.

    What this opportunity offers
    • Competitive pay of £160–£200 per day.
    • A full-time timetable and reliable long-term income.
    • The opportunity to teach without full responsibility for one permanent class.
    • Variety across subjects and year groups.
    • The chance to become part of a supportive primary-school team.
    • Opportunities to broaden your curriculum knowledge and professional experience.
    • Potential progression into a permanent or leadership-focused role.
