How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Lunchtime Supervisor
    Location: Lewisham, London, SE13
    Pay: £14.25–£15 per hour
    Contract: Part-time, long-term temporary
    Start date: 1 September 2026
    Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are available for candidates with extensive experience and relevant training. Pay is determined in line with Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

    Transparency Education is recruiting a responsible and approachable Lunchtime Supervisor for a primary school in Lewisham. You will help create a safe, orderly and welcoming environment while pupils eat, socialise and play.
    This is a rewarding part-time opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and can combine warmth and encouragement with clear boundaries.

    Key responsibilities

    • Supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground and other designated areas
    • Encourage positive table manners and respectful behaviour
    • Help younger pupils manage meals, packed lunches and dining routines
    • Organise or support safe and inclusive playground activities
    • Encourage children to participate and help prevent social isolation
    • Respond calmly to minor disagreements and behavioural issues
    • Follow school procedures when reporting accidents, concerns or incidents
    • Provide basic assistance following minor accidents, in line with school procedures and training
    • Support pupils with additional needs where appropriate
    • Monitor entrances, exits and pupil movement during the lunchtime period
    • Help ensure dining and play areas remain safe and orderly
    • Communicate relevant information to teachers and senior staff

    Requirements:
    Strong candidates will demonstrate:
    • A friendly but authoritative manner
    • Patience and clear communication
    • Reliability and excellent punctuality
    • Good observational skills
    • The ability to remain calm in a busy environment
    • A fair and consistent approach to behaviour
    • An understanding of professional boundaries
    • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • A commitment to children’s safety, wellbeing and inclusion
    • Previous experience in a school, nursery, playwork, childcare, youth work, sports coaching, hospitality or a caring role would be useful.
    • First-aid training would be advantageous, although it is not essential unless specified by the school.
