How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Role: Switchboard Coordinator at The Imperial - New Opening Hotel

    Location: Bloomsbury, London

40 hours (5 of 7 days weekly rota)

    About Us:

Imperial London Hotels is a family run company with a 187-year legacy, dedicated to putting authentic London experiences within everyone’s reach.

This summer, we open the doors to our fully re-imagined hotel, The Imperial – a new lifestyle offering within our portfolio. With 357 bedrooms, multiple dining venues, a workout studio, and destination rooftop bar, this will be a new beacon, bang in the heart of Bloomsbury, London.

    About the Role:

We’re searching for a confident, tech-savvy and customer-focused Switchboard Coordinator. You’ll be the voice of the hotel—connecting calls, assisting guests and ensuring our communication channels run effortlessly around the clock.

    What You’ll Be Doing:

Operate the NEC Business ConneCT system, IP phones and PA systems with speed and accuracy.

Handle calls professionally, providing clear information or directing callers to the right departments.

Monitor system performance, report faults and follow procedures for emergency and priority calls.

Manage wake-up calls, guest messages and call logging across systems including Opera and Telecom Eye.

Ensure detailed record-keeping, smooth handovers and consistent communication standards.

Provide out-of-hours support for staff and guests, maintaining a 24-hour service.

    Who You Are:

Excellent telephone manner with proven customer service experience.

Strong written and spoken English, confident with MS Office and multitasking.

Calm, organised and able to prioritise under pressure.

Bonus: experience with switchboard systems or hospitality environments.

    What’s In It for You:

28 days holiday, rising to 33 with length of service (including bank holidays)

Access to ILH Training Academy programmes, apprenticeships and supported study

    Holiday Purchase Scheme

Complimentary uniform dry‑cleaning, plus discounted personal dry‑cleaning

    Interest‑free Season Ticket Loan

    Workplace Pension

Team Member flat rate and 50% friends and family hotel discount

50% discount across ILH F&B outlets

    Discounted drinks at Blooms Café

    Employee‑funded Health Cash Plan

    Local Bloomsbury discounts

    Early Pay access

    Shopping discounts with selected retailers

Salary sacrifice schemes including nursery care, cycle to work, and technology

Access to mental health first‑aiders, wellbeing support and the Employee Assistance Programme

Ready to be the Voice of the Hotel?

If you excel at communication and love being at the heart of operations, we’d love to hear from you
