How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional to take a lead role in managing Environmental, Health & Safety delivery across a large-scale construction project, ensuring compliance, improving safety performance, and embedding a proactive safety culture across all site operations.

As EHS Lead, you will work closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers, subcontractors, and site teams to lead EHS initiatives, monitor compliance, and ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards and UK legislation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement, and monitor project EHS plans, procedures, and safety management systems.
    • Drive a proactive safety culture across all levels of the project team.
    • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and control potential hazards.
    • Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and subcontractors to ensure EHS requirements are achieved.
    • Monitor subcontractor compliance and ensure all site activities meet company and client safety standards.
    • Review and approve RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), permits, and safety documentation.
    • Lead incident investigations, reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
    • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate EHS records including audits, inspections, incidents, and performance reports.
    • Attend daily briefings, safety meetings, and project reviews.
    • Prepare and issue EHS reports and performance updates to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, sustainability requirements, and project standards.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Promote best practice across Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical construction activities.

    Requirements

    • Degree or diploma in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in an EHS/HSE role within construction or engineering environments.
    • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Proven experience leading EHS activities on large-scale construction projects.
    • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification essential.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience managing subcontractor compliance and safety performance.
    • Ability to influence teams and drive a positive safety culture.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Previous experience on Data Centre, Mission Critical, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, or Infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

    What's on Offer?

    • £80,000 - £110,000 salary package.
